Kenya
& Tanzania - Luxury Photo Safari
June 25 - July 8,
2009

Just
the mention of the name “Serengeti” conjures images in ones mind of an exotic
and exhilarating land filled with thousands wild animals. A Serengeti safari,
especially at the height of the Great Migration, is a never-to-be-forgotten life
changing experience. Every year between April & July, Africa’s annual Great Migration
passes through in one of the greatest spectacles in the natural world. Over two
million herbivores partake in this journey, with about 200,000 zebra and 500,000
Thomson's gazelle behind the main players... one-and-a-half million wildebeest!
We will be perfectly positioned in our tented luxury safari camp on the Grumeti
River to witness this awe-inspiring event. We will also visit Ngorongoro Crater,
once a gigantic volcano, long since having collapsed and eroded, it is an extensive
highland area with the famous 600 meter deep crater as its focal point. An estimated
25,000 large mammals are resident in this bowl of plenty, as well as the surrounding
grasslands, including a population of approximately 6,000 resident wildebeest,
the highly endangered black rhino, lions, cheetah, leopard, buffalo, zebra, Thomson’s
gazelle and giant tusked elephants. We will also visit Lake Manyara National Park,
renowned for its abundant elephants and tree-climbing lions. From soaring groundwater
forests and a tranquil lake, to the mountain escarpment of the Great Rift Valley,
Lake Manyara National Park boasts an incredible wealth of habitats and diverse
African wildlife. Last, but certainly not least, we will travel to Kenya and the
land of the Maasai. Campi ya Kanzi means “Camp of the Hidden Treasures” in Kiswahili
and is one of the top luxury tented safari camps in Kenya, in sight of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
The Maasai own this land, making it one of the last unspoiled areas of Africa.
Connecting three national parks, the property is home to a vast wildlife population.
